Light Up Goshen Christmas parade. 

The parade is schedule for November 21, 2009.  It will start at 4:30 this year.

I would appreciate it if you would let everyone know about this great event.  If your youth group would like to enter a float in the parade, please register online  here.  This link opens an email window. Please include your contact information and the type of entry in the email. Sorry, our registration form is not working at this time.

There is no entry fee and youth group floats and tractors will be judged for prizes as stated on the flyer.  The theme is “Christmas Treasures.”

The parade starts at 4:30.  At the end of the parade, Santa will light the tree at LCNB National Bank and the Fire Department will sound their siren for all Goshen residents to turn on their lights.  There will be food, visits with Santa, a live nativity and several activities going on for everyone to enjoy.

 This is a great event to showcase Goshen and we hope to see you there.

Line up starts at 3:30 with youth float and tractor judging immediately following.  Judging ends at 4:20 with awards presented for display through the parade.

 Line up in the parking area at Marr-Cook school located on Goshen Road.  You will be assigned a position in the parade at that time.  The parade will travel north on Goshen Road to St Rt 28 and turn left.  Go past the firehouse to Dick Flynn Blvd.  Turn Right on Dick Flynn Blvd.  Parade entries will be directed into the side parking lot at Kroger’s and once that area is full, additional parking will be on Dick Flynn road on the side closest to Kroger’s.  Dick Flynn will be closed to traffic from 4:00 -7:00 for safety.

 No candy can be thrown from a float or vehicle.  You MUST have a walker or walkers with you to distribute candy.  Safety is the top priority.

 Adult supervision must be provided by your group while you are on the school lot. 

 The only Santa in the parade is the one sponsored by the Chamber. 

 Please pre-register your entry.  We need to know where to place you in the parade for the benefit of everyone watching.  If you do not pre-register, you may not be eligible for awards and will be placed in the parade where ever possible and/or not at all.  While we want to have a great parade, this is only possible if we know who will be participating.

 Once the parade is over, Santa will light the tree at LCNB National Bank and then be available for visits and pictures with the kids.  Pictures will not be taken by the Chamber this year due to the digital phase.  Prices for pictures taken with your camera are $2 each or two for $3.  Proceeds go to the Chamber for events such as this.  There will be other activities going on at Bowman Financial and Axiom Church for everyone to enjoy.
